Recital Part II

The flowers were a huge hit at the recital. I was being stopped left and right by people asking where I got such beautiful recital flowers...so grandma beware...I sent them to you for next year....
Here is a photo of Delaney literally kissing her flowers. She loves them so much and has them displayed on her dresser for all to see!

Delaney's Dance Recital

The recital went great! At first I was a bit worried because Delaney fell asleep in the car on the way there and when she woke up she was in a nasty mood! She didn't want anything to do with the recital and clung to my backstage. Of course, the teacher was in a panic because she said "Delaney you are my leader" what am I going to do if you don't get up there! lmao. Finally, a few girls came over and started talking to Delaney and I told bribed her with dairy queen! Once she heard that, all was well and she started to get excited about dancing......so here she is, performing at her best....her dancing friends did a great job as well and looked like they had so much fun!!!

The bossy dancing queen.....

Delaney's dance recital is tonight but here are the photos of my dear little dancing diva at her rehearsal on Friday. She was trying to dance and follow instructions from her teacher in the front row and when her dancing friends weren't listening, boy oh boy did she get right up in their personal space and tell them what to do! So here she is, my bossy dancing diva. I cannot wait for tonight to see the performance again. She made me laugh so hard that I cried!

Its been a while....

since I posted here but things have been crazier than usual. I have officially finished nursing school and graduate on May 9th which is so exciting it nearly brings me to tears. It has been a long time coming and I am glad that this part of the journey is behind me. The last few days I have spent relaxing and enjoying doing things with the kids- Castle Island, Sunset Lake, Watson Park. It has been so nice to just spend time and do things with them and not have to worry about what paper is due and what test is coming. So a big sigh of relief on that front.

This week consists of picture day for Della on Monday- she has her dancing recital on May 12th. Then my graduation dinner on Tuesday night. Baseball and Softball practices in between. Rehearsal for dance on Friday, birthday parties, graduation and mother's day all in one weekend.
I think I better enjoy my down time today! This will be it for a while I think...

A few days before Easter and all through the house.....

things are a bit hectic but hey, who cares! This year I am a bit saddened that we are not having a big family Easter dinner, but lives are busy and I understand that. I have an exam on Monday and both Mom & Dad are working late into the afternoon/early evening. I will be spending the majority of my day studying but it's ok because I'm almost finished! April 27th is the last day of Laboure (I hope!)-so this year, a small ham will be tossed into the oven, and I will color the eggs and have an egg cracking contest that will make Mema proud!

So spring is springing and the kids are excited, but I think I'm more excited for the break from anything academic. I am looking forward to long walks with the kids, hanging out at Castle Island with Jen and her kids and just enjoying myself! I am truly looking forward to going to the island and letting Natalie run and chase the birds....long walks....hanging out with my husband, my best friend!

So here is to a happy spring, the flowers in bloom and some great family quality time!

A fun day with an old friend

And I don't mean old in the literal sense although she IS older than me.......Shirley was in town this weekend and we got together on Saturday. Although it wasn't for too long this time (she had to visit her relatives as well) we sure had fun for the few hours we were together. Miss you shirl girl!
